The Canadian AIDS Society’s Annual Meeting (AM) is an opportunity for member organizations to collectively shape the future of the HIV movement in this country. Specifically, attending members will be able to:
- network with colleagues from among the Canadian AIDS Society’s member and associate organizations;
- set priorities for the community-based AIDS movement; and,
- participate in the general business of the Canadian AIDS Society.
In 2016, the Canadian AIDS Society (CAS) was pleased to host its Annual Meeting as an ancillary event following the 25th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research (CAHR 2016) – held in Winnipeg between May 16-18, 2016.
While both the CAS PLWHIV Forum and Annual Meeting have in the past traditionally been hosted in Ottawa, we hope to institute a new practice of hosting our annual conferences in various cities across Canada – aligning ourselves whenever possible each year with other major conferences connecting the HIV movement.
There are several advantages to hosting our conferences in various locations across Canada – and we intend to increase the total number of CAS scholarships to offer financial assistance to PLWHIV, with or without ASO affiliation, and member organization representatives as a way to encourage attendance to these important meetings.
If you are a member of CAS, make plans to join us and other member organizations to share information, discuss new ideas, contribute to policy development and renew acquaintances.
