Dr Charles Roy, Executive Director of AIDS Committee of Toronto, passed away at the Toronto Hospital Saturday, August 24, 2002 from complications due to HIV/AIDS.
Charles was a brilliant social worker, activist, educator, administrator, friend and PHA. He spent over a decade dedicating his life to AIDS service and activism, especially championing the rights of persons living with HIV/AIDS. In the last year he acted as a PHA representative on the Board of Directors of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
