CAS applauds Manulife Financial for its decision to offer insurance to Persons Living with HIV. (PLWHIV)
This decision should have happened years ago as scientific data has been available for some time now that rightly points to the fact that living with HIV today is no different from any other chronic condition.
“Up to now, PLWHIV were often prohibited from applying for life insurance coverage”, said Gary Lacasse, Executive Director of CAS. “This is definitely the right thing to do as yet one more element of stigma and discrimination falls by the wayside. We hope that other insurers follow suit.”
