Steve died May 20, 2004 at the age of 46 years, after a lengthy illness, to rejoin our Creator and relatives. A traditional service was held on Monday, May 24, 2004 — interment in Star Blanket Cemetery, followed by a traditional feast. He was a long time advisor to All Nations Hope AIDS Network, a past member of the Saskatchewan Advisory Committee on AIDS and a life time member of the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (Réseau autochtone canadien sur le sida).
