Specialty

Client Services provides the people in our community that are living with or are affected by HIV/AIDS practical support so they can live a better quality of life. Programs include: · One-to-one support and case management – information and referral · Telephone hotline counseling · Positive action – peer support group · Greenbough Fund - Financial assistance to PLWHIV/AIDS · Barriers to access subsidies · Nutrition programs · Complementary therapies Community Outreach programs take a leadership role in communicating with at-risk groups in their own environment and in partnering with others in the community on education and prevention. Community Outreach programs include: · Gay and bisexual community programs · MSM outreach · Women’s Program/outreach · Injection drug use/ prison project · YouthXChange · Training programs/train-the-trainer-programs Community Development conducts policy analysis and provides community training and development, through workshops related to HIV/AIDS specific topics. Community Development includes: · HIV/AIDS and human rights advocacy · Speaker’s Network – education in schools and businesses · Volunteer coordination – programs and events · Local, national and international partnerships/initiatives Development Team oversees the fund development, marketing, and communications initiatives of the agency. Development Team includes: · Awareness and fundraising events · Ellipse: AIDS Calgary’s newsletter · Planning and evaluation · Website: www.aidscalgary.org · Workshops
