Blueprint for Action on Women and Girls and HIV/AIDS
A multi-sector coalition of HIV-positive women, Canadian and international HIV/AIDS organizations, and a variety of women’s and reproductive rights groups advocating for better prevention, services and supports for women and girls infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN) *
A national coalition of Aboriginal people and organizations providing leadership, advocacy and support for Aboriginal people living with and/or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Canadian AIDS Treatment Information Exchange (CATIE) *
CATIE is Canada’s source for up-to-date, unbiased information about HIV and hepatitis C. CATIE connects people living with HIV or hepatitis C, at-risk communities, healthcare providers and community organizations with the knowledge, resources and expertise to reduce transmission and improve quality of life.

Canadian Association for AIDS Research (CAHR)
Since its founding in 1990, CAHR has been dedicated to fostering collaboration among all researchers working in HIV research, improving the quality of HIV research and advancing its cause. The Association holds an annual multi-disciplinary scientific conference to exchange information acquired in the ongoing search to understand, control and prevent the spread of HIV infection and to improve the care of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Canadian Foundation for HIV Research (CANFAR)
The Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research is a national charitable foundation created to raise awareness in order to generate funds for research into all aspects of HIV infection and AIDS.

Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network (CHLN) *
The Legal Network promotes policy and legal responses to HIV/AIDS that respect the human rights of people with HIV/AIDS and those affected by the disease.

CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network / Réseau canadien pour les essais VIH des IRSC*
CTN is a partnership committed to developing treatments, vaccines and a cure for HIV disease and AIDS, through the conduct of scientifically sound and ethical clinical trials.

Canadian Treatment Action Council (CTAC) *
A national organization directed by people living with HIV/AIDS, the Canadian Treatment Action Council promotes informed public policy and public education, and promotes awareness on issues that impact on access to treatment and health care for people living with HIV/AIDS and for other vulnerable populations. Treatment is a broad concept which includes traditional as well as complementary and alternative medicine.

Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR) *
CWGHR is a national charitable non-profit organization that promotes innovation and excellence in rehabilitation in the context of HIV disease.

Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development (ICAD) *
ICAD is a coalition of international development organizations, AIDS service organizations and others. Its aim is to lessen the impact of HIV/AIDS on resource-poor communities and countries.

Alberta Community Council HIV (ACCH)
A partnership of 12 non-profit community HIV organizations, ACCH members come together to present a unified provincial voice on HIV/AIDS issues and concerns common to all.

Coalition des organismes communautaires québécois de lutte contre le sida (COCQ-sida) (Quebec's Coalition of Community-Based Groups Working Against AIDS)
A provincial coalition of 35 independent organizations working with and for people living with HIV/AIDS. (Parts of this web site are in English)

Ontario AIDS Network (OAN) *
A province-wide coalition of diverse community-based organizations. The member groups work together to establish a just and effective response to AIDS.

Pacific AIDS Network (PAN)
PAN is a member-driven network of more than 50 community-based AIDS organizations that provides a forum for communication, mutual support and collective action for HIV issues throughout British Columbia and the Yukon.

Canada - Government

Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
CIHR is Canada's major federal funding agency for health research and administers most of the research funds for the Canadian Strategy on HIV/AIDS. CIHR supports all aspects of health research, including biomedical, clinical science, health systems and services, and the social, cultural and other factors that affect the health of populations.

Canadian Health Network
The Canadian Health Network (CHN) is a bilingual, Internet-based health information service collaboratively delivered by the Public Health Agency of Canada and many major non-profit organizations from across Canada engaged in the delivery of health information to consumers.

Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
CIDA's goal is to support sustainable development in order to reduce poverty and contribute to a more secure, equitable and prosperous world. HIV/AIDS---a key component of programming for CIDA and its many partners since 1987---is one of the organization's four social development priorities.

Correctional Service Canada (CSC)
An agency of the Ministry of the Solicitor General of Canada, CSC plays an important national leadership role and contributes to the understanding of HIV/AIDS in the correctional environment.

Health Canada
Health Canada is the lead federal department for issues related to HIV/AIDS in Canada. The Department coordinates the Canadian Strategy on HIV/AIDS, which has an annual budget of $42.2 million. Several responsibility centres within Health Canada contribute to this work, including the Bureau of HIV/AIDS, STD and TB, the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, the Departmental Program Evaluation Division, the Health Canada Regional Offices, the HIV/AIDS Policy, Coordination and Programs Division and the International Affairs Directorate. Health Canada also works closely with the provinces and territories through such mechanisms as the Federal/Provinicial/Territorial Advisory Committee on AIDS.

Public Health Agency of Canada
The PHAC is the federal lead for public health issues related to HIV and AIDS in Canada responsible for surveillance and outbreak response, knowledge transfer and exchange, community capacity building, policy, leadership and program coordination. The Federal Initiative to Address HIV/AIDS in Canada (FI) – a partnership between the Public Health Agency of Canada, Health Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and Correctional Service Canada – strengthens domestic action on HIV and AIDS, builds a coordinated Government of Canada approach, and supports global health responses to HIV and AIDS.

Imagine Canada supports Canada’s charities, nonprofit organizations and socially conscious businesses and champions the work they do in our communities. CAS is a member organization and a signatory of the Ethical Fundraising and Accountability Code.

This web site is a free social networking site connecting people living with HIV/AIDS. The goal of the site is to create happiness and build relationships among people living with HIV/AIDS, connect people with HIV/AIDS so they can share their experiences and reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.

International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI)
The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative is a global organization working to speed the development and distribution of preventive AIDS vaccines.

International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO)
ICASO works to strengthen the community-based response to HIV/AIDS, connecting and representing AIDS service organizations in all regions of the world.

Global Campaign for Microbicides
The Global Campaign for Microbicides is a broad-based, international effort to build support among policymakers, opinion leaders, and the general public for increased investment into microbicides and other user-controlled prevention methods.

International Labour Organisation Program on HIV/AIDS (ILOAIDS)
The International Labour Office AIDS web site contains a downloadable version of the 'ILO Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS' which provides practical guidance to governments, employers and workers for developing national and workplace policies and programmes to combat the spread of HIV and mitigate its impact.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)
The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS, is the main advocate for global action on the epidemic. It leads, strengthens and supports an expanded response aimed at preventing transmission of HIV, providing care and support, reducing the vulnerability of individuals and communities to HIV/AIDS, and alleviating the impact of the epidemic.

HIV InSite
HIV InSite is part of the University of California San Francisco’s Center for HIV Information (CHI), whose mission is to advance the prevention and care of HIV infection and related illnesses worldwide through the development, organization, and dissemination of expert knowledge.

Resources for HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration
The Resources for HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health Integration web site provide a comprehensive knowledge base for health professionals working to integrate teh prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS with sexual and reprodctive health (SRH) services. Users can access the latest research and evidence-based approached to integrating prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and SRH services, as well as materials documenting field program experiences, practical tools for integrated service delivery, news and conference materials.
