September 5, 2012 - The Canadian AIDS Society thanks the Ottawa-Gatineau Atlific Hotels for their contributions to the fight against HIV.
On Tuesday, August 28 at Club de Golf Hautes plaines, the Canadian AIDS Society and Ottawa-Gatineau Atlific Hotels, welcomed influencers, members of the pharmaceutical and hospitality industries and members of the HIV movement to its third annual Five Diamond Charity Golf Tournament.
The event is hosted by five Ottawa-Gatineau Atlific Hotels, including the Courtyard Marriott, Four Points by Sheraton Gatineau-Ottawa, Hotel Indigo, Lord Elgin Hotel and the Residence Inn Marriott. “It’s about bringing community together for an important cause and having some camaraderie and fun, while raising awareness and funds for the Canadian AIDS Society,” explains Monique Doolittle-Romas, Chief Executive Officer.

Lord Elgin Hotel agreed. “We are thrilled that our hotels could be so deeply involved again this year. It’s wonderful that we can bring our clients and friends to fun event while demonstrating our support for such a worthy cause.”
A 9:00 a.m. shotgun start began the day on the golf course for the 36 participating foursomes in the best-ball tournament, while an après golf reception followed. It featured live and silent auctions and several raffles, as well five food stations that offered an array of appetizers prepared by top chefs representing each of the host hotels. Kurt Stoodley, Host of Ottawa’s CTV Morning Live emceed the festivities.
Ms. Doolittle Romas added, “This year’s event was the best yet, with excellent food, many terrific prizes and a great day out on the golf course. It was an overwhelming display of community caring and support. We sincerely thank the event organizers, Ottawa-Gatineau Atlific Hotels, host golf course, Club de Golf Hautes plaines and ClubLink, emcee Kurt Stoodley, participating golfers and all the many sponsors of the event, as well as the prize donors (please find a complete list of contributors below).”

All proceeds raised will go directly to the Canadian AIDS Society to assist in the development of programs, publications and resources they offer in support of their 120 members AIDS service organizations across the country.
