The Canadian AIDS Society is thrilled to announce the winners of its 2011 World AIDS Day video contest.
Executive Director Monique Doolittle-Romas says, “With the launch of its World AIDS Day campaign on November 7, CAS invited the general public, and youth specifically, to “Do Something”, including participating in our video competition. We thank all participants who rose to the challenge and added their voices to the important dialogue on HIV in Canada. We received some very creative and inspiring messages on HIV myths, stigma, education and prevention, and means of transmission.” CAS gratefully acknowledges the generous contributions of Abbott Laboratories and the Public Health Agency of Canada in making CAS’ 2012 World AIDS Day Campaign possible.
Contest entries could include skits, songs, slam poetry or any form that communicated a strong message about HIV. They were grouped into two categories, one for youth between the ages of 13 and 29, and the other for anyone outside of that age group. All videos were evaluated against the following six criteria:
CAS congratulates Greg McVicker and Jared D., who will take home new iPads for their winning submissions in the general and youth categories, respectively.
We invite you to view the all entries at: http://www.youtube.com/CanadianAIDSSociety.
Again, CAS thanks all who took time to “Do Something” to participate in this World AIDS Day activity to help make AIDS history.
